About ACANU Prize for Reporting on Human Rights Issues

The Association of Correspondents Accredited to the United Nations in Geneva (ACANU) created two international journalism prizes in connection with the celebration of its 70th anniversary in 2019. This concerns the ACANU Prize for Reporting on Human Rights Issues, which honours professional journalistic coverage of human rights-related issues, preferably with links to the work done by the UN in Geneva. Applicants must submit one article, published online or in print in 2018, or a video or radio piece broadcast during the year. Texts should be no longer than 1,500 words. Video and audio pieces should last no longer than five minutes. The ACANU Committee goes through the submissions and makess shortlists to be submitted to an independent, international jury, made up of a mix of journalists, academics and representatives of International Geneva and of Switzerland.
