The Board of the foundation True Heroes,
films for Human Rights Defenders has
the honour to invite you to the thematic
evening Human Rights Defenders in the Picture
on Tuesday, 13 May 2008
This evening follows on the meeting
of the Jury of the Martin Ennals Award
for Human Rights Defenders (MEA) and
is organised with the support of the
Netherlands Institute of Human Rights
(SIM), the Dutch section of the International
Commission of Jurists (NJCM), the Dutch
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Eden
Hotel Group.
Professor Cees Flinterman, Chair of
True Heroes Films will be the moderator
of this evening.

October 2007 On 2 October
2007 the first two films produced by
True Heroes Films - made by award-winning
documentary maker Rob Hof - had
their premiere during the International
North-South Media Festival in Geneva.
The films are commissioned by the Martin
Ennals Foundation to show the work of
the 2007 laureates of the Martin Ennals
Award: inspiring human rights activists
Rajan Hoole and Kopalasingham Sritharan,
co-founders of the University Teachers
for Human Rights (UTHR), Jaffna, working
to report human rights abuses by all
parties in Sri Lanka and Pierre Claver
Mbonimpa of Burundi, a courageous human
rights activist who stands up for the
rights of Hutu, Tutsi and Batwa.
